Steel Wool

If a tree falls on your property, quickly remove it. You can even cut up the trunk or branches and use it for firewood. You can also give it to someone else, or sell it if you want to. However you have to get rid of the stump as well. A stump is not alive anymore, so it could be a magnet for termites.

Examine the foundation and walls for cracks. As the years wear on a house there will be cracks or fissures in the structure. Pests will use these cracks as pathways into your home. Inspect the ceiling also. Ceiling cracks can be a path for pests to enter your home.

Only use pesticides as directed. Though you may be tempted to use large quantities of a product, you may regret it in the end. You can seriously cause harm if you apply these in the wrong way.

Kill flying bugs with hairspray. Perfume also works, but don’t get either in your eyes. Hairspray and perfume are flammable; therefore, you should never use these products near open flames. This is a good quick fix if you find yourself without an insecticide spray.
