Mint will repel mice and other pest as well. Plant mint all around the perimeter of your house. This will cause mice to move elsewhere. If you already have mice, consider sprinkling mint leaves around the affected areas. This can get rid of most mouse problems; just remember to use fresh leaves.

Outdoor lighting is wonderful for entertaining and to divert strangers from your home, but these lights can attract pests. Outdoor lighting in yellow, pink, and orange usually attract less bugs.

To control pests, take a look at your plumbing. Check drains and sinks for any clogging. Pests like roaches and flies like the food stuff that accumulates in these areas. After you clear them, check regularly for clogs.

Electronic pest repelling devices can be quite useful. Plug this device into outlets in every room, and the buzzing sound will repel rodents. You may not be able to hear it and it will not hurt you or your pets. Rodents hate the noise, keeping them away.

Eliminate mosquitoes by eliminating their habitat. Get rid of any area of standing water. Mosquitoes can breed in almost any amount of standing water, so get rid of it near your home.

Steel Wool

Steel wool is a great way to plug up mouse holes in your walls. When the mice nibble on the steel wool, they will die from eating it. Mix spackle with tiny pieces of steel wool, and use this mixture to seal the holes and keep mice away!

Your recycling might be a source of attraction for pests. It is wise to store your recyclables outside your home. If you cannot do this, make sure all containers are completely rinsed. Sealed containers are the best to avoid attracting pests when disposing of your garbage.

Remember that mice and rats are omnivores. Any type of food will work when you’re setting traps. You can also use spoiled foods in traps.

Always check the labels of the pesticides you buy. Though you may be tempted to use large quantities of a product, you may regret it in the end. In many cases, overusing pesticide won’t be any more effective and will also pose a health risk.
